Casey Dahl, my friend and mentor , pictured above , introduced
me to the wonderful world of the Shar Pei in 1992 and my interest
and love for this breed has continued to grow. We enjoy a wonderful
friendship although living 3000kms apart and together we continue
to learn more about the Shar Pei on a continuing basis thanks to
Telstra!
Minke was from Casey's first Shar Pei litter and titled on Valentines
day 1993, a record at eight months of age. Minke amassed well over
enough points to make her a Grand Champion today.
Bronco is still enjoying his relaxed lifestyle in Darwin and enjoys attending an occasional show , now withdrawn from public stud Bronco has given us exceptionally strong, correct horse coats and fabulous solid pigmentation , so important for the breed.
Jou Lin was the first Shar Pei to win an all breeds show in the Northern Territory and is a consistent Group and In Show Winner having amassed 19 Best in Groups and 17 runner up in Groups under national and International All Breeds Judges. Zeuss is now retired and appears only on special occasions.
Best of Breed , Royal Darwin Show 2000. Scampi has the ultimate harsh horse coat and is a rich solid black colour. She has a superb temperament and is a total clown!
Lucy is just gorgeous to have around however does not enjoy the show ring. She will now retire and just enjoy chasing tennis balls which is her favorite pastime.
Misty was lost late in 2002 in the midst of a horrendous thunderstorm and found 7 weeks later. We lovingly refer to her as our "Feral Kid". I have made a list of things to do if you lose your dog , the article can be found here.
Dobromil Yao Tien is the very latest youngster to join us at Tcharkuldu, although shown sparingly, he is nearing his Grand Champion title, following in the successful pawprints of of Dobromil Chia Jen who appears in his pedigree.
I have a great love for the Shar Pei and enjoy showing them immensely, (they don't run as fast as Rottweilers!!) I have been very fortunate with my foundation animals , we experience extreme heat & humidity in the tropics and I have only had animals with super temperaments & coats, this helps to make showing a breeze. We were very fortunate in accessing the services of Michael Trafford who in my opinion is one of the worlds best Canine Photographers to do our photo shoot for the dogs above. They were photographed in May at the end of a long hot and humid wet season so the coats certainly are not at their best but given the conditions , still show very good coats. Dobromil Yao Tien is the very latest youngster to join us at Tcharkuldu, he will I am sure follow in the footsteps of Dobromil Chia Jen who appears in his pedigree.
